The Ocean Course

Kiawah Island, SC

Overview

Taking advantage of the incredible views of the Atlantic, The Ocean Course is the perfect tropical destination in Kiawah Island, South Carolina.  Chris Lutzke worked on all the intricate details with Pete Dye on the original construction of the Ocean Course.  Since the course’s opening, Chris has made numerous trips back to Kiawah, with Pete, to make changes to the ever evolving golf course.

With 10 holes that hug the shoreline and 8 holes just inside them, The Ocean Course truly offers a golfing experience unlike any other.

This course keeps ocean views in mind, with raised inner holes that provide awe-inspiring views of the Atlantic. However, the views come at the cost of an extremely challenging game, as they also bring with them some intense ocean winds. These winds make The Ocean Course much more difficult than it otherwise would be, but that challenge is welcome for many clever players willing to take on the breeze. The Ocean Course challenged the best golfers in the world while hosting the 1991 Ryder Cup, 2012 PGA Championship and 2021 PGA Championship.

No matter the skill level or number of years a golfer has been playing, The Ocean Course makes for a phenomenal experience that won’t soon be forgotten.
