Teeth of the Dog
La Ramona, Dominican Republic
Teeth of the Dog is a course designed by Pete Dye and Alice Dye, with Chris Lutzke on-site as lead designer and construction manager for the 2005 complete renovation. The course offers nothing short of the spectacular expectations we all hold of the Dominican Republic’s oceanfront beauty. Composed of 18 holes that route along the shoreline of the Carribean sea. Teeth of the Dog gives golfers an experience unmatched by any other course in the world.
Ranked as the number 1 course in the Caribbean, Teeth of the Dog features a stunning natural landscape with ocean views and a historical atmosphere that is difficult to find anywhere else.
The course was designed to accentuate the ragged, rocky coastline of the Dominican Republic and create a course that both challenges its players and leaves them in awe of its scenery. This course packs a hefty bark and bite, but completing it gives golfers the ultimate satisfaction of having played one of the best courses in the world. The game is made even more difficult on the 7 holes that lay directly on the Caribbean Sea by the strong ocean breeze coming off the water. As with most of the courses Pete Dye and Chris Lutzke collaborated on, clever tee selection on each hole is often what makes the difference.
This 18-hole scenic course presents players the opportunity to play a round unlike any they have played before with a jaw-dropping Carribean backdrop.
Teeth of the Dog is one of three Pete Dye courses located at Casa de Campo Resort. Chris Lutzke played an equally important role in assisting Pete Dye in the creation of the Dye Fore Course and the Links Course at the Casa de Campo Resort.
